The
goal of the Green Tables farm and garden philanthropic
initiative originated by Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI)
is a noble and timely one: to help link urban and rural farms
and gardens to school, restaurant and kitchen tables.
Answering the call to arms from its mother organization (LDEI),
the Les Dames d’Escoffier, Seattle Chapter began offering
grant opportunities in August of 2010 to qualified 501(c)(3)
organizations in the areas of education and training.

By offering
Green Tables food and nutrition grants, Les Dames d’Escoffier,
Seattle Chapter hopes to make a far-reaching difference in our
local community and beyond.
Grant focuses include:
1.
Educating
people about seasonality and cooking simple, healthy meals.
2.
Innovative
solutions to provide healthy meals in schools.
3.
Early
learning and exposure in schools of the garden-to-table (cafeteria) cycle.
