Open Meeting - Green Tables: More Than How Does Your Garden Grow

  • June 27, 2016
  • 7:00 PM
  • Good Shepard Center, 4649 Sunnyside Ave North, Suite 400, Seattle.

The Les Dames, Seattle June meeting is scheduled for June 27th.  This meeting is open to professional women working in food, wine and hospitality industries. Registration is required. For complete details including meeting cost please email our membership chair.

The meeting will be held at the Good Shepard Center featuring the Green Tables team. It’s More Than Just How Does Your Garden Grow, it is an Les Dames d'Escoffier International entity which has grown and developed over the years. The Green Tables initiative has developed the Seattle Green Tables Grant program which has given over $64,000 in funds to deserving 501(c)3 organizations.

The Green Tables team, extending their outreach in support of sustainable agriculture, has invited the Puget Sound Natural Resource Alliance (Dame Linda Chauncey) to explore a partnership in the creation of “Watershed Soup” (WS).  WS is envisioned as a branded product from ingredients sourced from and designed to reward farmers in Puget Sound whose stewardship practices enhance water quality - especially for salmon and shellfish. While local and organic have social currency, WS will engage consumers to recognize and appreciate our water and ag land caretakers, including the behind-the-scenes stories that promote sustainable practices.

You’ll have a chance to try a “watershed soup” created especially for this gathering.  The Green Tables team will be making the soup and other treats from produce sourced from farmers involved in the Snoqualmie Stewardship program.

The Puget Sound Natural Resource Alliance, source of the WS concept, has been leading the effort to create WS with key decision makers including Stewardship Partners, Full Circle Farms, The Nature Conservancy, Metropolitan Market (Dame Nancy Lazara), Meritage Soups, Garden Fresh, and Whole Foods, many of whom will join in our conversation on June 27th.

Light "soup" dinner and beverage is included.

Please make your reservations by June 22nd
